Wally Polino of Chicago died in his sleep sometime last night. Wally was a fireman for over 20 years on Chicago’s Truck 51 and one of the coolest mother ******’s I’ve ever met.
Wally always said the intensity of actually being in a fire could never be matched in a movie, but that Backdraft did it well.
Wally was a Crown Vic advocate and taught me they look best with the honeycomb grill and police wheels like so.
I will miss Wally’s guidance and friendship, but I think he would’ve wanted me and anyone else to use his death as a source of inspiration to cease the day! He was 57. RIP.
