When familes break up it is a tricky time for all concerned. As individuals they have to learn to live by themselves, in some cases deal with the loss of their partner and often cope with much smaller budgets on which to run their lives. If children are involved the position can be even more difficult with each parent wanting to create a secure and comfortable home in which the children can either live, or stay over at.

In order to achieve this the family property usually needs to be sold to release the money from the property to be split between the parents. This then allows them to select another, lesser house each where the children can feel at home, have all their things around them and simply make the best of a difficult situation. Nevertheless the current housing market is stopping the individuals involved moving on.

If 2 separate homes are required and family equity split then it is crucial that the highest price possible is achieved for the family home so that the couple have as much equity as feasible so that they can to buy a new home.

The country’s still sluggish economy has changed the way lenders operate. Banks and mortgage lenders, even auto lenders, are more cautious about to whom they lend money. This makes life difficult for those consumers seeking personal loans for bad credit customers. The simple truth? A growing number of banks and lenders are no longer passing out personal bank loans to consumers with weak credit scores.

Three-digit credit scores have always been important for consumers looking to borrow money. Lenders passing out everything from home equity loans to second mortgages to car loans have long relied on these numbers to determine who is and is not a risky borrower. Those consumers with low credit scores have always had to pay higher interest rates to borrow money, and they’ve always struggled to qualify for the best loan products.

Today, though, lenders who were burned by the bad economy – too many of the loans they passed out to credit-challenged consumers have gone bad – have sworn off no credit check personal loans. This me

MARK THOMA has an appropriately succint post up today which reads in its entirety (and I hope he’ll forgive my quoting the whole thing):

We have enough money to pay for military action in Libya, but not for job creation?

It’s hard not to be cynical about government policymaking, and this is why. Forget about fiscal stimulus for the moment. At present, both Republicans and Democrats are committed to cutting the government’s budget in the current fiscal year. These cuts will almost certainly threaten programmes with positive economic returns; job retraining programmes are on the chopping block, for instance. Certainly few party leaders are seriously discussing new spending on programmes with positive economic returns. America has substantial infrastructure needs—current spending is inadequate to simply maintain critical infrastructure at its current state of repair—and yet the odds of passing a new transportation law to replace the one that was scheduled to expire in 2009 but which has since been extended repeatedly, well, they’re close to zero. Why
